Even over video, I could sense the excitement. There was a buzz in the air and lots of smiling faces. Webcams were on!
This is the first time I’ve hosted an event like this – a meeting of the minds. About 30 seasoned women business owners attended the What's Next Roundtable™: An Interactive Conversation for Women Experts Who Wonder What’s Next for Their Business.
Thank you to our panelists, who helped facilitate the conversation:
With lots of interaction among the participants, we focused on how to get started figuring out ‘what’s next’ for your business. That could be expansion, new markets, or positioning for your exit.
I firmly believe – and have built my business around – the idea that business success and wealth in the hands of women elevates society as a whole.
It concerns me that very few women are planning for what’s next. That leaves our life’s work, our impact, and our legacy in the hands of fate.
What’s next for you and your business? Have you figured out how you will let go of the old beliefs and methods to reorient yourself to your ‘what’s next’?
In this moment, you have the luxury of time and the ability to future-proof your business. You have choices.
During the Roundtable conversation, we dived into several questions from participants.
Our panelists fostered a lively discussion around these questions, sharing their personal experiences of selling a business.
When we think about ‘what’s next’ for our business, that requires mastering a huge challenge - letting go.
I think the urge to control is baked into many of us. We think it takes away the risk and uncertainty.
Control makes us feel better, especially when our behavior leads to great outcomes. And some control is good and necessary – you’re the boss.
Control can work to our advantage – until our behavior tips over to fear, anger, or frustration and we start grasping for anyone and anything to keep us emotionally afloat.
In those troubled times, I’ve found that my saving grace was in learning to let go – and it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
Letting go is an emotional journey with no real destination. Once you find the balance between what you can and cannot control, you’re on the path to reorienting yourself to something new.

I'd love to hear what you think. I read and respond to every email personally.
P.S. Are you giving 'invisible' discounts to prospects who didn't ask for them? The anxiety you feel when talking with a potential client leaks out when you slash your price because you're afraid you'll lose the opportunity if you don't.
I’ve broken down exactly why this 'discount dilemma' happens in an exclusive training called The Value Equation, which you can get for FREE by signing up for the bonuses that are companion pieces for my book, Your Hidden Advantage.
My life’s work is empowering high-achieving women business owners to fine-tune their operations and scale their revenue for strategic growth, creating real business value and emerging exit ready. That value can transform into wealth when they are ready to exit their company - and I believe that wealth in the hands of women elevates society as a whole.
