Today on the show we have Patty Block. Patty is an expert coach in helping women business owners exit their businesses as successfully and smoothly as possible. On the episode today we are going to talk about the broken cookie effect and how this applies to many of the unique challenges that women business owners face growing and especially selling their companies.

  • [15:50] One of the huge advantages we have as women is our powers of perception and intuition. We have to learn to trust our instincts.
  • [23:45] The community aspect of leadership is so important and sometimes we don’t realize that we have the power to create a group, find a mentor, or determine who are role models are.
  • [25:50] Find your voice. You have something important to say.
  • [29:54] If you can start to identify when you are quiet, that’s how you are going to find your voice because you will start asking questions instead of being quiet.
  • [31:47] Whether you are the boss or not you can talk to women as humans instead of identifying gender.
  • [34:35] If we are not speaking up then our important ideas are not being heard.
  • [37:49] As women, we have to take responsibility for recognizing where we are, where we get stuck, and how we can change it. Show yourself some grace and be kind to yourself. Be as kind to yourself as you are to everyone else.
  • [38:14] You deserve and need the whole cookie. You deserve and can get the whole cookie by planning ahead and figuring out exactly how to move forward.
